L'ÉTERNITÉ
A visual study in light, movement and restraint.
There is a particular quality of afternoon light in a certain kind of Parisian room, the kind of light that arrives at an angle through tall windows and lands on marble floors in long geometric bars. It is the light of duration. It is light that has been in that room for a very long time and intends to stay.
This is the light we were chasing in L'Éternité. Not a mood, not a technique, a specific quality of illuminated time. The collaboration with our stylist began not with garments but with a question: what does it look like when something is not hurrying?
The white sculptural gown was chosen because it holds light rather than reflects it. It turns the figure into a form within the room rather than an object placed in front of it. The stillness you see in these images is not direction. We waited until it arrived naturally. On the third hour of the shoot, it did.
L'Éternité is not about beauty in the conventional sense. It is about permanence. About the strange and specific dignity of things that endure. We think of it as the first in a series of visual studies on what fashion looks like when it stops performing.
